the device pays quickly and works well. detects small amounts of water both on the top and bottom quickly.
Arrived fast. Second one purchased and for bathroom. So far so good. Pretty sensitive sensors and so what supposed to. They feel like quality plastic and seem to handle being in small puddles. Haven’t tried submerged.

The unit comes included with the battery and paired to Zigbee2MQTT easily and shows up on Homebridge via Z2M plug-in. I did a quick test by exposing the unit to some water and the Home app generated an alert. Sweet!
This sensor instantly detects water under it, and it integrated very easily into my Zigbee-based Home Assistant network. Works great, and at $3.62 (the sale at the time), the price was outstanding.
Every smart home should have a sensor like this. I placed it next to our water heater tank (on the downward sloping side of the floor) , then wrote an automation which instantly emails & alerts all members of the household if a water leak is detected. Perhaps I’ll create an audio alert as well.
These leak detectors are great and not to mention very inexpensive. Work with Zigbee2MQTT and Homebridge integrates them into HomeKit. Bought a bunch of them to monitor potential leak points. The seller is great and received the units very fast.
